CAPE TOWN JAZZ FESTIVAL, the annual Cape Town jazz festival is the culmination of world renowned musicians providing a cohesive star studded lineup. Each year 40 performers- an equal mix of African and international musicians- descend upon festival's five stages to deliver some of the best jazz to be heard on the continent. It also features photographic and art exhibition. A favorite among music lovers the 2010 festival will hold on 3rdand 4th April.
OPPIKOPPI EASTER FESTIVAL, The festival is held in Northam ,Norhtwest in the month of March. Primarily a music festival, it started off focusing mostly on rock music, but gradually added more genres anything from jazz, world music , house music, acoustic , comedy and all else in between can be heard on one of the multiple stages. The festival takes place over a period of three days. During the thrilling event fans are given a chance to interact with their favorite bands on a more intimate level. Singing, DVD sale, T-shirts sale and much much more have become commonplace at this massively popular event.
TONTELDOOS PEACH FESTIVAL. It happens in late March or early April in the village of Tonteldoos. It offers peaches and pretty much everything that can be made from the fruit, including peach mampoer. The festival has grown in stature and has become an annual outing to enjoy a charming country experience in the remote yet easily accessible Totolos. Items not to be missed on the program include birds of prey in action, hot air balloon, an Easter bonnet competition, arts and crafts, boeresport, Mr and Mrs Tonteldoos competitions and a model aero plane show. Apart from food and delicacy stalls, offering from traditional pancakes and braaivaleis to the more extraordinary, a Beer tent and a Tea garden are the attractions of this festival.
LAMBERT, S BAY KREEFFEES .At the kreeffees, held in the west coast town of Lambert's bay, crayfish is the main attraction at a ridiculously low price to make it available to all. Lambert's bay is the crayfish Mecca and this delicacy is prepared in true west coast style. It also offers opportunity to get festive at rock concerts by some of the South Africa's favorite musicians. There is also bungee jumping, aerial displays, a half marathon, beer tents and more
