What Works More; TV Advertising or Users' Manuals

What is TV advertising in this age of growing the Internet usage. TV is a good marketing medium. Think about it. We are so desensitized to commercials. We use them for food or bathroom breaks during hot debates or we just downright fast forward through them. I know that I can't stand watching them, so I just forward through them. Bye, bye commercials. Another reason I don't watch is the quality of the commercials. I see far too many local commercials that are just annoying and awful to watch. What are these business owners thinking when they make those commercials?

I see a new trend; people looking up on the Internet for users manuals or instruction and guide books to get have meaningful information about products. That is cool and very subliminal. No?

Real tangible point in this is that people can have a look at user's manual; without buying a product. I love it because that is how I can get the feeler of a product before I pay for it. This will ultimately improve their overall marketing effort and increase their brand image. Manufacturers and advertisers should want more manuals online (have a look a Techno Station and you will know) and seek to reach out.

I need to design a pagination for a manual/book...I googled the word and I am still not sure, can someone please help me out?? like a better definition or example will do! please help me.

For a book, you can start with simple page numbering (1, 2, 3, ...) for all the pages of the book (usually starting after the table of contents) and then design the table of contents and index to correspond with the numbering.

Often, manuals will be paginated using section numbers followed by page numbers (1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 2-1, 2-2, ...) and then design the TOC and index accordingly.

If you will be printing double sided, make sure to place the page number itself on the outside corners of the pages to make flipping through easier for the reader.

You can also include other information either as a header or footer as well. Items often included in headers (at the top of the page, above the text) are author's name, chapter or section title or the book title itself. Items often included in the footer (at the bottom of the page, below the text) are page numbers, section titles or revision dates. You will want to make sure the same information is shown consistently (i.e. the author's name on the front side, book title on the back side, numbers on the outside, text centered or on the gutter side).

Open up a variety of books or manuals in a library or book store to get an idea. Just look at the top and bottom of the pages (front and back) and don't forget to check out the table of contents and index.
